The Israeli section has 25,000 IPA members and is considered to be one of the most active in the world. We have 120 branches, every chairman of a branch is part of our national assembly. We are a small country, with small police force, with a large and prominent IPA section. IPA Israel operates according to the international principles of the association and, above all, to create and maintain a friendly relationship of service among all the police officers who are members of the international association. The International Police association in Israel operates democratically, with all office holders in the organization being democratically elected by all members of the association. The last elections were in 2023 We set out on a new path. Immediately
after the elections, long-term and short-term goals were set, from which the work plan for the coming year and the next five years was built. The principles were presented at the first national assembly in this term with an emphasis on strategic planning. The strategic plans were approved and enable efficient and high-quality management of the organization.
The vision of IPA Israel: “IPA as an association that all police officers, prison guards, retired policemen and volunteers will want to be members of.”The vision says everything that IPA Israel intends to do and it will serve as a compass both for the presidency and for all the officials in the organization.
As of this moment 2023, the organization has 25,000 members and the intention is to reach 30,000 members by the end of the current term. IPA Israel is the fourth largest section in the world and is considered the most active. Relative to the size of the police force, it is the largest branch in the world. IPA Israel is the only section in the world where all IPA members participate in the election process for the office bearers in the organization. Everyone elects the chairmen of the branches, members of the national board and the president. All the management work of the organization is carried out in cooperation between the national board and the representatives of the branches.
The entire work of the organization is coordinated by the IPA mechanism, which includes a CEO, a secretary, an ombudsman, a CPA and an auditor. Our strategic planning was based on the assumption that the future of the association depends on recruiting young police officers to the organization.
Emphasis is placed on the field of recruitment, all IPA management, the
presidency and branches will contribute to the recruitment of police officers, prison guards, pensioners and volunteers for IPA.
Filling in the lines will open up new possibilities for the organization’s activities and allow for a significant expansion in the activities and services that the organization provides. The organization’s future depends on recruiting young police officers, in Israel and around the world.
After 60 years we continues to grow and develop consistently.
The relationship with the members and all the officials is a central goal and within this framework a communication system is activated which includes a new website, an application, WhatsApp groups, social networks, e-mail messages and phone messages. Each member of the organization receives the information regarding all the activities of the organization at the national level and in the branches. Updates and efficient transfer of information enable the provision of quality service to members. The branches receive special attention and empowerment, in order to connect the IPA with police officers and prison guards. Serving police officers and prison guards, unlike retirees, are under operational constraints, schedules that do not allow the release of entire units for joint activity, and in order for a police officer and prison guard to benefit from the organization’s services, a special evaluation and coordination with commanders is necessary.
As part of the strategic planning, a special emphasis was placed on professionalism, all the members of the presidency and the chairmen of the branches participate in professional seminar days, training courses and meetings in other branches in the world.
Although these are volunteers, professionalism is required in understanding the organization, the services it provides to its members, the ways to utilize the budget available to each position holder and most importantly, knowledge of the organization’s principles and motto.
All IPA officials undergo professional training in Israel and around the world. The emphasis is placed on providing information, professionalism, management tools. The IPA Israel section initiated the establishment of the IPA International Management Academy with sections Romania, Cyprus, N.Macedonia, Germany and Bulgaria.
A platform that enables the meeting of officials from all over the world for mutual learning and enrichment of the management tool.
